THE ROUTE VERDICT

Realistic itineraries
in Los Cabos.

Days that respect geography, energy, opening hours, crowd pressure, and the pleasure of not rushing.

ROUTING LOGIC

Times are suggested planning windows, including the travel buffers described below. Reorder whole days for museum closures, weather, and confirmed reservations. For a shorter visit, use the first day or first two days; extensions and alternatives are labeled.

01
Day 1

Cabo San Lucas and Land’s End

Marina → El Arco → El Médano

  1. Marina arrival and orientation

Eat breakfast before departure and allow 30–45 minutes for the agreed pier, payment checks and lifejacket fitting. Add 60–90 minutes beforehand if coming from San José.

  2. El Arco boat outing

Use the operator’s actual departure and leave about two hours including the return. A beach landing is optional only when permitted and suitable; port closure means a dry marina morning.

  3. The Office lunch

Allow 20–35 minutes to El Médano by a suitable walk or ride and confirm the lunch service in advance. Leave time to eat without rushing back to a boat.

  4. Hotel rest or a dry beach break

Check flags before considering water. Keep the afternoon in Cabo rather than adding a San José round trip.

  5. Edith’s dinner

Daily dinner begins at 17:00. Reserve if desired; Los Tres Gallos Cabo is the alternative town dinner with its own booking and transfer.

02
Day 2

San José streets and one farm-area meal

San José Centro → Ánimas Bajas → Gallery District

  1. Arrive in San José

From Cabo San Lucas allow 60–90 minutes including pickup and traffic. Walk the plaza and a few central streets before the hotter part of the day.

  2. Flora’s Field Kitchen daytime meal

Allow 25–40 minutes to the farm area and reserve a Tuesday–Sunday table. Monday has no brunch: use Acre’s confirmed weekday lunch or Fausto’s daily daytime service instead.

  3. Return and rest

Allow 25–40 minutes back to town or the hotel; no second farm meal is needed.

  4. Gallery District

Visit galleries whose own hours are confirmed. The organized Thursday Art Walk usually runs November–June; outside that season use a normal town stroll, not a promised festival.

  5. La Lupita San José dinner

Reserve the Morelos location on an operating day. If unavailable, use a confirmed Acre or Flora dinner, allowing 25–40 minutes each way; otherwise choose a nearby open meal before the return to Cabo.

03
Day 3

One bay and a relaxed resort afternoon

Chileno or Santa María → Cabo / hotel

  1. Check conditions and leave after breakfast

Choose one bay according to flags and access. Allow 30–60 minutes from either town including parking and the final walk; bring water and sun protection.

  2. A measured beach visit

Spend two to three hours at Chileno or Santa María. Use a guide and suitable equipment for snorkeling if desired; stay dry or cancel if conditions are poor.

  3. The Office lunch in Cabo

Allow 35–60 minutes to El Médano, including changing and traffic. If based near San José, use Fausto’s at Acre instead after a 45–75-minute transfer, avoiding an unnecessary drive to Cabo.

  4. Hotel recovery

Return to your own base and leave several hours free; repeated bay-hopping mostly adds heat and transfers.

  5. Optional Manta dinner

Book only if the coastal location and journey suit your base. Allow 25–45 minutes from Cabo or 45–75 from San José; a simpler nearby meal is sensible after a long beach day.

04
Day 4

Cabo Pulmo as a dedicated excursion

Los Cabos base → Cabo Pulmo → same base

  1. Early departure from Cabo San Lucas

Arrange breakfast and packed food with the hotel or tour beforehand. San José pickups can be later, around 07:30 if the operator agrees. Allow roughly 2–3 hours from San José or 3–4 from Cabo, including slower roads and check-in.

  2. Authorized marine outing

The booked operator’s real schedule controls this block. Confirm flotation equipment, park entry and permitted sites; allow about two to three hours and do not promise wildlife or a particular reef.

  3. Lunch and change

Use the explicitly included operator meal or the food brought from the hotel. Confirm this before leaving; do not rely on a specific remote restaurant being open.

  4. Return with daylight margin

Leave enough time for the same substantial road journey. Weather or road restrictions should cancel or shorten the outing rather than lead to a rushed drive.

  5. Flexible dinner after recovery

For a Cabo base, Edith’s lists dinner until 22:00 and can work only after confirming a suitable table. For San José, a confirmed Flora dinner before its 21:00 close is an option. If delayed or tired, eat at the hotel and avoid another destination drive.

DO NOT BREAK THE RHYTHM

Four ways travelers exhaust Los Cabos.

Crossing town for every mealA good nearby table beats the famous reservation that breaks the day.

Stacking major institutionsTwo famous doors do not guarantee two meaningful visits.

Ignoring the hotel resetA real break protects the evening that mattered enough to reserve.

Treating travel time as emptyThe route, street, train, river, or view can be part of the city—not an inconvenience.
