ORDER THE CITY

Five rituals, without the costume.

Choose tacos by appetite

At La Lupita, start with a small mixed order instead of making a taco list into a challenge.

Ask the seafood price before ordering

Clarify the species, portion and price of any market-priced fish or shellfish.

Let one farm meal occupy a full block

Flora’s or Acre needs a reservation and a road transfer; visiting both for full meals on one afternoon adds little.

Separate a beach meal from beach access

A table at The Office or a hotel restaurant does not automatically include chairs, towels or a pool.

Keep the tasting and the driving separate

Enjoy mezcal only with a sober driver or an arranged return; never rely on finding transport after closing.

RESERVATION CLOCK

Book by pressure, not prestige.

Weeks aheadSmall rooms, tasting menus, major weekends, and true occasion meals.

Several daysPrime dinner times and restaurants tied to a fixed show or attraction.

Same dayMarkets, counters, bakeries, and casual institutions after checking hours.

Always flexibleKeep one meal open for the neighborhood the trip makes you curious about.
