THE ROUTE VERDICT

Realistic itineraries
in Seville.

Days that respect geography, energy, opening hours, crowd pressure, and the pleasure of not rushing.

ROUTING LOGIC

Times are suggested planning windows, including the travel buffers described below. Reorder whole days for museum closures, weather, and confirmed reservations. For a shorter visit, use the first day or first two days; extensions and alternatives are labeled.

01
Day 1

Palace, cathedral and historic lanes

Real Alcázar → Arenal lunch → Cathedral → Santa Cruz

  1. Arrive for palace admission

Eat breakfast first and carry the physical ID matching your ticket. This plan assumes a 09:30 entry; follow your actual session and allow security time.

  2. Real Alcázar

Spend about three hours in the palace and open gardens. Follow staff instructions if weather closes the grounds; the Upper Royal Apartments require the appropriate separate booking.

  3. Bodeguita Romero lunch

Allow 15–20 minutes to walk to Harinas and a full hour to eat, plus any wait. On Monday, when Bodeguita Romero normally closes, use Las Teresas for lunch instead; confirm holiday service.

  4. Cathedral visit

Allow two hours, with the Giralda only if the climb suits your group. On a service-restricted day move the appointment and use Santa Cruz first.

  5. Short Santa Cruz loop

Use shaded public lanes and plazas for 45 minutes, then return to the hotel. In excessive heat skip this block rather than extending exposure.

  6. Las Teresas dinner

Check kitchen service and seating; dinner is deliberately well after the cathedral rather than rushed between admissions.

02
Day 2

The park and Triana

Plaza de España → María Luisa → Arenal → Triana

  1. Plaza de España

Allow about an hour before the hottest period, respecting event barriers. Continue into María Luisa Park for a short shaded circuit.

  2. Park rest and return north

Rest with water, then allow 30–40 minutes walking or a short taxi ride toward Arenal. Reduce the park in heat or storm warnings.

  3. La Brunilda lunch

Its published lunch service starts at 13:30 and currently runs daily. Use a reserved table on Calle Galera and allow 90 minutes for a proper meal; if unavailable, use Las Teresas after allowing 20–25 minutes to walk there.

  4. Rest before crossing the river

Take a hotel break in hot weather. In mild conditions cross Puente de Isabel II and explore the market surroundings and ceramic streets at a relaxed pace.

  5. Triana public streets

Walk Calle Betis and Antillano Campos, checking shop hours individually. Private patios are not automatic visitor attractions.

  6. Las Golondrinas dinner

Use the Antillano Campos branch and a confirmed service arrangement. Allow 30–45 minutes back to a central hotel, longer with mobility needs.

03
Day 3

Painting and the north centre

Bellas Artes → San Lorenzo → Encarnación → Gerona

  1. Museo de Bellas Artes

Spend two hours with selected galleries. Normally closed Monday: swap with Day 4's palace visit and check any holiday exception.

  2. Casa Ricardo lunch

Walk 15–20 minutes toward San Lorenzo. Reserve if possible; Monday closure means using La Bodega de la Alfalfa after a longer walk or taxi instead.

  3. Afternoon recovery

Return to the hotel or sit in a shaded café. Keep this free block during the hottest part of the day.

  4. Setas viewpoint option

Allow 20–30 minutes from San Lorenzo or your hotel. Buy the elevated walk only if the view and weather justify it; the public square is a valid shorter alternative.

  5. El Rinconcillo dinner

Walk 10–15 minutes toward Gerona. Choose bar service or a reserved dining-room meal, with no assumed free table at peak time.

04
Day 4

Archive, smaller palace and flamenco

Archivo de Indias → Casa de Pilatos → Alfalfa → flamenco

  1. Archivo General de Indias

Visit the public exhibition spaces for about an hour, normally Tuesday to Sunday. Monday: use a slow cathedral-quarter walk and retain the later palace appointment.

  2. Casa de Pilatos

Allow 25 minutes walking, then 75–90 minutes for the chosen palace ticket. Confirm upper-floor arrangements and the accessible route before entry.

  3. La Bodega de la Alfalfa lunch

Walk 10–15 minutes and allow a full meal. La Escaloná on the nearby plaza is a checked alternative with a different menu.

  4. Hotel rest

Leave several hours free so the evening performance does not become the end of an uninterrupted walking marathon.

  5. Flamenco appointment

Use an actual booked performance time at Museo del Baile Flamenco; this is illustrative. Arrive as instructed, check recording rules and do not expect dinner unless the ticket explicitly includes it.

  6. Dinner after the show

Walk 10–15 minutes to Las Teresas if its service suits, or use a reserved La Brunilda table from its published 20:30 dinner service, allowing a 20–25-minute transfer. Shift dinner around the actual show time.

DO NOT BREAK THE RHYTHM

Four ways travelers exhaust Seville.

Crossing town for every mealA good nearby table beats the famous reservation that breaks the day.

Stacking major institutionsTwo famous doors do not guarantee two meaningful visits.

Ignoring the hotel resetA real break protects the evening that mattered enough to reserve.

Treating travel time as emptyThe route, street, train, river, or view can be part of the city—not an inconvenience.
